Thumbs up Body Lift ordered.

Well, I bought the P.A. 3" BL and gap guards last night. Can't wait to get them in, and get pissed off at the install process.

Still looking for gears. I know I'm getting 4.56s, just haven't decided on brand, or where to get them from. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm probably gonna run the 285s until I find a deal on some 315 Goodyear Duratracs. They are about $250 a tire online, so gonna wait till they go on sale. Or until I find a deal on four like new BFG 315s like some people , before I buy my 17" wheels.

I expect to be rolling on 35s in the near future though.

Hey bud, if you need help installing let me know

I like Yukon gears, but ford racing, and precision has some good products.

Look on

Chuckstrucks.net
and craigslist for tires

Ive been on there ALOT lately and cant believe some of the deals ive been seeing. Your looking for 35's on 17's? Ill keep an eye out for you.

And about a month prior to install, start spraying the bolts down with PB Blaster.

Good deal man, can't wait to see it done. Just noticed you moved down here too, how you liking it? Like trimble said, Yukon gears are probably your best bet, but theres a few other brands out there too that aren't too bad.

Looks like the yukons are a little over $100+ extra for each. Think they are worth it?

Yea, I will definitely need help. None of my buddies seem to know how to do this.
I'm looking to do this within the month, so I guess I'll start spraying the PB. Thanks for the links, I'm gonna start checking there. I gotta make a couple runs over to the Ocala area this month, so it wouldn't be hard for me to pick up some tires while I'm there.
Not seeing the link you posted though with the tires.

Cote, I'm originally from here, just was stationed up in NJ for a little while. I'm loving it too.

Im loving my Yukons

The body lift is nothing if you can follow directions. They tell you EXACTLY what you gotta do, and if you ever get stuck there are plenty of us to help ya out . I DEFINITELY recommend having two people when removing the cab bolts. Youll need someone with channel locks underneath holding the rubber pads that the bolts go through and someone in the cab turning them suckers. Like I said, were here to help ya if you need it

Are you goin to get some new wheels? I am not sure if you got aftermarket set or not?

Yea, I got a pair of 16" pacer. I liked them when I first got the truck, but the center caps are junk, so I don't even use them.
I'm wanting to go 17", b/c I really like the 35 r17 combo. Down the road I'm gonna get some 315 Duratracs with some black/silver wheels. But for now, I'm looking for a good deal on some 35s to run until I get the duratracs. If I find some for a 16" wheel, I'll just run my current ones, if I find some for a 17" wheel, I'll probably go ahead and throw down on some 17".

ATs or MTs don't really matter if its a good deal as I plan on upgrading soon.
Just something that isn't bald, and will hold me through a little while.

Question about the gearing. I currently have 3.55LS. DO they do the 4.56 in LS, or are the gears a different part?

yes the gears are the Ring and Pinion... the limited slip or locker is a differential.

you can setup 4.56's with a limited slip. id go aftermarket on the LS aswell.

Any suggestions on the LS? The diff never even crossed my mind until I saw the, "Open Diffs Suck" thread.

if they offer one for your rear axle id get a tru-trac limited slip.

actually id get a locker, but if you arent offroading often then it aint worth it.

Found some BFG A/Ts 315s on craigslist today. Guy said he had 4, 2 at 90%, and 2 at about 60% for $200.

Well, after driving a little while to get them. I was a little dissapointed in the description. 2 of them were about 80 maybe less. Some cracking in the groves though. The other 2 were at about 10-15%. Pretty much unusable, but would work as a spare.

I picked them up anyway b/c there was 2 315s bfg a/ts for sale locally with about 80% left as well, so that would of given me a full set. Dang ad was gone by the time I got home.

So now I'm looking for a deal on 2 315 BFGs, or back to a different set. Kinda worried about the cracking/dry rot. Does it look bad, or not serious at all?

In my search for tires today, I swung by a local used tire place, and asked if they had any 315 BFGs. He had one, at about 1/2 the tread of the other 2 I had . So, I told him no thanks, then he tried to sell me multiple different tires from 285s, to 265, all this after I told him I was only interested in 315s or 35s. Well, as I'm leaving he says he does have a set of 35x12.50 r16. Said they were practically brand new.

Once he pointed them out, I realized they weren't brand new, which was fine. Still thinking about getting them, I looked and saw that they were for a 16.5 rim. He then still tries to sell them to me, and says I'll be fine with a 16.5 tire on a 16" wheel. I declined and quickly left.

Fun adventures at the tire shops.
