Topper on 02 color question

I have a 02 F 150 FX4 red torreador metalic, medium red, I found a black fiberglass topper for a good price, thinking of leaving it black, and painting the wheel flair molding and bumper trim which is gray in color black, I was thinking with black it may not look like a big tomatoe. What do you think?

I would paint it to match. I think leaving it black would look awkward

of course painting to match would be best looking option. but if you can paint other things to match like the moulding/trim, it may not be too bad.

If you really need a topper then I say go for it. A black topper is fairly neutral and shouldn't look bad on a red truck

paint it red, the goofy two tone on two opposite sides of the truck won't look very good imo.

lol, not that they intend for it to look good, or even care for that matter, but i've seen trucks driving around here totally not matching. one i saw at work in the towson area was white truck with a green hard tonneau, lol.

honestly, dont paint anything until you have the topper on. see what it looks like. if you dont mind it, try painting the moulding. if you do mind it. save up & get it painted.

and when you say topper, you are referring to like a cap that goes over the bed, right? not a tonneau cover?

I'd paint it to match the truck
