Cash for clunkers was just to get cars and trucks that were bad on gas off the roads. Every car turned in for the cash for clunkers program was suppose to be destroyed to get gas guzzlers off the road, so i dont know how they would have sold it to you. But there could be nothing wrong with it execpt for the low mpg's we all enjoy.

They might be able to resell rather than destroy it because they never got the CFC credit. Dont know but I heard a lot of companies were having a hard time getting the credit after they sent the car in.

From my understanding, they could be parted out, as the title was somehow marked that it could never be plated, etc. again. There is a salvage yard in Indianapolis that has a whole huge lot full of CFC vehicles.

It's not a two tone green/silver 4x4 supercab Lariat is it?

My dad got $4500 CFC for his '97 when he bought his '09 F-150 from Bowditch in Newport News.

It had been a work truck for nearly all it's life and there was no way anyone would have paid $4500 for it.

The whole cash for clunkers, was a waste, other than helping move vehicles. The number one vehicle purchased under it was the F150. Chevy and Dodoge fullsize trucks were also in teh top ten.

Well, like Alex said up above if the dealership never put in for the govt credit then the vehicle is theirs to with as they wish.

In this case, a $4500 birthday present. That is assuredly what came off the sticker on a new Honda.

Congratulations.
And you are certianly lucky it wasn't my dad's old truck.
I just know that one is sitting up at the Campbell's Soup plant.
