ac clutch- why not autozone

ac clutch- why not autozone

I've read a few times on here not to buy my ac clutch from autozone.....where is a good place to buy one? napa has a new one for 155, i can get one at employee cost from ford for 125 shipped including my 20 dollar core any other places to get one and save some coin? or is the motorcraft reman the way to go?

My specific recommendation was to not get the one from AutoZone (Murray, 4 Seasons, whatever) because the clutch plate I got there a while back was simply made to the wrong dimensions.

I ended up scrapping it since I had lost the receipt and got a Motorcraft pulley and clutch plate. Cost me around $90 from Rockauto for the two Motorcraft pieces.

Note that if you buy the clutch kit, you will also get the coil which you may or may not need.
