Seriously, the coating statement is aggravating... stainless is not a coating, its a metal type, it will change colors from temperatures but will remain intact and not appear to flake.

sorry you misinterpreted, i wasnt saying the obx's have a stainless coating, thats just retarded.. what i meant was i dont like the way straight stainless weathers after use, the finish looks different. I have had ceramic coated headers and they kept the same finish for over a year without any change in looks. stainless can still rust and change color....

i did the airbox mod already, i went to a scrap yard here and picked up another box and did the chop job on it so the K&N filter i have is exposed inside the engine bay.. not worried about the under hood heat for right now, its the middle of winter and i wanna do the e fans eventually and that will really open things up under there...

Oh ok, but I don't understand why you actually care that stainless will change color? As far as the rusting goes, I havent seen it yet on anything of mine. I honestly havent seen it on stainless pipes at work either lol

certain types of stainless are made to develop a very minor layer of surface rust, which actually protects the steel. I would rather have a durable ceramic coat than have to worry about my headers turning colors or even having a nasty surface rust coating after an extended period of time, cause once they go on, they are staying on...

Yep, -and that's what Ford uses in the Y. If your a welder, you find that out real quick

409 is probably more the grade of stainless that will generate a rust coating. the 304/309 grade probably wont and thats the majority of these polished stainless exhausts.

i think when the time comes i may go with the OBX headers. from what ive seen around here they seem to be pretty good quality and i would rather save the cash in the long run....

well i replaced all 4 ball joints, left wheel hub, and the idle arm this weekend... stock stuff was toast.

turns out the right hub had already been replaced. after slapping it all on, the right wheel is only toed in 2 degrees!! not bad for eyeballing it. unfortunately my tie rod ends, inner and outer on both sides are locked up and not adjustable, so i need to replace those asap and then get the alignment right...

got my inner and outer tie rods, and connecting sleeves replaced yesterday. jacked her up in the driveway and smacked the old ones out with a big hammer...

then i went back to firestone and got the alignment fixed, finally! the front end is all good now, she drives right and feels like a whole new truck!
