Fuel System Problem

I have a 2002 4.2L V6 and I am having issues with the fuel pump. When I turn the key to the on position, they pump will turn on for an instant but will not stay on long enough to build pressure in the line. The relay seems to work, I switched the relays around and still had the same problem. I can also hear the relay clicking. I replaced the pump and the ignition switch. The problem does not occur every time, sometimes the pickup works just fine. The problem only occurs at startup, if the pickup will start, it runs just fine until I shut it off. When the pump does act up, I can take the positive terminal off for several minutes and it will start up afterwards. This is very confusing and I really could use some help. Thanks.

It sounds like you might have a pcm problem and you might want to remove the negative termnail instead since you can do damage with removing your positive off first.
