hood...

....What to do.

i can buy this ram air hood for 420 bucks
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...ts+%26+Mirrors

or i can buy a cowl hood scoop from jegs for 109 bucks and have a 4" cowl.
http://www.jegs.com/i/Harwood/487/1107/10002/-1

what would you guys do? i like the look of the cowl. but the other ram air looks sweet too. i dont know if i wanna shell out 400 bucks for a hood. i think itd rather get the scoop it self and weld or fiberglass it on.

Either way theyd deff look better than my 15 dollar 3M stick on scoop right now.

what ya think.

it has a valley in the middle going to a vent lookin thing it is.

im really leaning towards just the scoop.

any one know how long our hood is?? from grille to cowl? The 109 scoop is 44" long and the 154 jegs scoop is 38" long.

I think the scoop. If it was my truck, I would go with one of these.

If I ever have to replace my hood, it will be with the Mach I style.

That is the one I call the Mach I. It modeled after the 71 to 73 Mustang RAm-Air hood.

that Z28 hood is to long my hood is 40" on the nose. the other one that is 38" would fit but thats 159 bucks.

I agree 100 pecent. The only reason, I would get one is if my hood was damaged and I neede one anyway. A stocker from Ford lists for nearly 400.00.

That is a good looking 71 Mach I. Which engine/ tranny is it running? I had a 72 coupe in high school and colllege, with a built SVO headed, late 80s NASCAR heads, 351W. It ran a best of 11.10 at 123, in the quarter. I want another, to restomod, I have a basement full of NOS Ford parts for it already.
