Oil and temp light

Oil and temp light

Had this problem last year and now its back. Whenever its really cold out and the truck hasn't been started in a few the oil pressure and temp. light come on. When the truck warms up a little they go away, anybody know what caues this problem, how to fix

The oil pressure and temp senders are seperate functions.
But in the dash, the lamps are lighted from another solid state device that gets it's info from the PCM.
I would feel you have a temperature sensitive dash issue.
See Haynes repair manuel #36059, page 12-30 drawing to the lamp location and the other senders' locations.

The 01 uses the same light bulb for both warnings. See owner's manual.

Probably time for a new oil pressure switch.

How much does that run, i've noticed recently that the oil preasure gague is reading no preasure when it starts cold, and the when it warms up it goes back to the regular spot in the middle. Would that be caused by the oil preassure switch. It doesent seem like i have no oil preassure when this happens becuase the engine runs fine, just the same as it does whe the gague reads regular preassure.
