Question 2000 F150 Radiator Interchange?

Hey everyone I am new on this site, I have a 2000 Lariat F150 4x4 Supercab with the 4.6 that I recently acquired (my 2000 Ranger got totaled 2 months ago in a rear end collision from someone on the phone). I started my truck early the other day to get some ice melted off of my windshield and when came back outside I noticed that there was a small puddle of antifreeze on the ground. I looked at my hose and tank on the passenger side and when I squeezed the hose I could hear the air escaping from the core with fluid sitting on the fins. I found out that this truck has an electrolysis problem which I’m sure started when the truck was wrecked a few years ago, and that the radiator that is in there now is the second replacement that the truck has had. Since I am in school I don't have a lot of money to be throwing around so I went to the local junkyard to see what they had. The junkyard has two 1997 F150's, one with the one row radiator, and one with the thicker two row like my truck. I can get the radiator for $30 with my core but I'm not sure if the radiator will be the same. I looked up both radiators for a 4wd and the 2000 and 1997 two rows and the part numbers are different, but the parts guy said that the numbers might not interchange. I was wondering if anyone knows for sure otherwise I am going to buy another aftermarket radiator. To add insult to injury the axle seal went out the same day All information is appreciated and thanks to everyone in advance.

I did something similar to this earlier this year. If the part numbers don't interchange, you might be able to figure out if the radiators are the same by looking at rockauto.com. Their parts listings for radiators have diagrams with dimensions and locations of inlet and outlet ports. Check the specs on the '97 and the 2000. If the HxWxD and hose connection centers are the same, chances are you're good to go. I matched mine up this way going from a one-row to a two-row and it worked out fine.

Good luck!

mounting points are all the same, only thing you have to worry about is the in-tank transmission cooler fittings on the drivers side tank, If the fittings are the same then you will have no problems.

Good luck
