Unhappy Help please

Just got f-150 4x4 4.6L ,5spd , coughs and sputters a bit on acceleration ( worst when motor is cold) very poor fuel economy .... any suggestions?/ complete tune-up maybe?
I've had chevy's until now so I'm not to familiar with the f-150 , any tips where to start to improve fuel mileage would really help

How many miles are on it? I would say a complete tune up is a good place to start for sure. Is there a check engine light on?

I would do a can of SeaFoam or Deep creep.

then replace the plugs, wires, etc. clean air filter or even get a cold air intake kit. you can pull the mechanical off the engine and install dual electric fans (removes rotating mass from the engine = more power) or for $400 get a programmer and give your truck a new life.

Good deal. It's amazing what a tune up will do. That's some low mileage for an 01'. Must not drive it very often?
