No reception

Hello all, i recently replaced my heater core in my 99 4.6L 2wd.

Ever since i pulled the dash out and put it back in, i only get local radio stations, where as before i would get stations from areas hours and hours away. It is almost like i lost signal power. I pulled out the radio and made sure the antenna wire was plugged in properly at the back of the radio , as well as the other end that plugs into the antenna it self. They were both ok, what is my next step?

On Some vehicles... the antennae lead comes thru the fender then has a secondary lead to the radio... did you notice anything like this during your repair?

On my 97' 150 I discovered that water had crept down my radio antenna coax and had corroded it internally and wasnt visible untill i pulled it in two with little effort. this also had not been realized untill after i replaced my heater core and had diss and then reconnected coax at rear of radio.reception was restored after replacing antenna/coax assembly. hope this maybe helps.

Check your continuity from inside to out. You may have pinched the cable putting her back together. Probably easier to disconnect the old and just run a new line if that's the case.

Thanks guys, i will inspect the line and check it for continuity.

By the way, is the line 1 piece from radio to antenna , or 2 pieces?
