Engine oil level gage problems

Engine oil level gage problems

Hey guys I have a 2000 scab 4x4 5.4 and I just got an oil change. Now every time I start up truck my oil gage goes up midway and then goes down to empty. Then I start driving and it does the same thing back and forth like every 2 mins untill I start driving for like a good 15 miles can anybody help me please Thanks guys

thats oil PRESSURE, what kind of filter did they put on? I have seen cheap filters do this before. DO NOT drive your truck untill you get this resolved. I would start by putting on a motorcraft filter and re-test.

If oil is not getting to vital components in the engine, it could destroy the engine.
Did you check the oil on the dipstick after the oil change?

yes it was full of oil and just a llil dark

Oil pump could be on it's way out.... BEWARE

I had the same issue several months ago. I replaced the oil pressure sender and have not had a problem since. BTW, the sender it right next to the oil filter.
