O2 sensor change
O2 sensor change
I had the O2 sensors changed recently. It may be my imagination but my F150 seems to have more pep. Could anyone tell me if this is a possible result or is it wishfull thinking? The truck is a 2001 F150 with 91,000 miles.
Did you change them yourself or did someone else do the work? I'm curious to know if this is something I can do.
There is an excellent writeup around here - I think it's in the technical articles forum. The driver's side is pretty easy to get to from underneath once the truck is jacked up. The passenger side can be accessed from the fenderwell after removing the tire, skirt and the transmission dipstick. You will need an O2 wrench, which is just a crowfoot socket with a slot cut in it for wire harness. You can find it at any auto parts store for about 10 bucks.
Search for the writeup - it is very detailed with pictures.
