7700 Package
7700 Package
On a 02 2wd f150 with the 7700 package it gets a 7 lug setup.
My questions are, 1. what size rear end does the truck have or were there a couple options, 2. what if any improvements did the front suspension get, 3. how difficult is it to find rims to match the 7 lug pattern, 4. will it bolt up fairly easily to any 97-03 f150, 5. will the improvements gained from the suspension and using it to run 37"+ tires out weigh the work/ cost associated. or will running 37"+ on a 8.8 rear axle work just fine.
Just looking into some options and whats available. any help is welcome
Thanks

yea i found a front end wreck one and im also trying to find 7 lug wheels first before i go any farther. centerline has a bunch but the are either chrome or polish no black
The 7700 has a Sterling 10.25" rearend with beefed up torsion bars among other things. EXTREMELY difficult to find wheels. I think centerline is the only place I have ever seen that does carry them. It should bolt up, but IMO its a big waste of money. I would find a used 9:75 "junkyard special". I wouldnt worry about your 8.8 man, unless you plan on jumping the thing.
Heres a list of differences between our 150's and the 7700
- 7 Lug Rims -
- They have a larger frame then the F150
- Bigger Brakes
- 3:73 rear end from factory
- 4R100 Tranny
- Extra leaf in back
- Larger Torsion bars -
- Heavier towing capacity
- Weigh more -
- Larger rotors
- HD shocks
- power steering cooler
- 4700 lbs rear axle
- HD rad, thicker
- HD alternator
- HD battery
- LT tires standard, load range D
- the tranny is the same as a F250 SD and the F350 SD
- 8,600 lbs towing
- 11,500 lbs GCVWR
- 7,700 lbs payload

thats what i was looking for basically. but this one doesnt have the beefy torsion bars since its a 2wd.
now im thinking maybe i can get the leafs from this guy for now at least instead of an AAL maybe? theres just too many options now

Thats the truth. I have basically put my self in a hole for awhile with buying that 7.5" lift. I wont have tires for a bit, and I have next payment for college coming up. Looks like it might be around thanksgiving time-ish before I lift it more.
Hit up the junk yards man. Call them and tell them you need a 9:75 rear end. Some places will give you good prices. I saw one on a website for 1,175.00 I think. It was brand new though.

only reason to swap would be to get the bigger rear end and i found it wrecked on craigslist and figured it would be cheap, also i have a 2wd and its also a 2wd so most parts would have been a direct swap, no need for a 1 ton rear.
ya I would think so. unless theyre stretched out so its about the same level as ours..
the leafs should give you some lift, but itll only be like 1/2" to 3/4" at the most i think
find a set of leafs off of a truck that had a 5.4 in it, they should have 3 leafs + overload leaf. so compared to stock v6 leafs theyre physically thicker.

Why in the world would you need a bigger rear end with a 4.2? That's a waste of money! There are tons of lightnings running 500hp with the 9.75. Not to mention the mustangs that are running more hp's than you will ever make with a 4.2 and a 8.8 rear end!
