Overdrive button problem
Overdrive button problem
I have a 2002 FX4 and it has the OverDrive on-off button on the end of the shifter. The problem I'm having is that when you push the button, nothing happens, it doesn't turn off like it should. I don't know where to start looking to fix the problem, is it the button, a fuse, or what? Any ideas on where to start looking to fix this???? Thanks....

check the fuse panel under the dash, slot number 29. mine did the same thing, the light would stay on then the light when off and it wouldn't go out of overdrive. i changed the fuse and now it works like a champ!
Thanks for the info... My daughter just left this afternoon headed back to college in it, so it'll be next weekend before I can check it... I hope that's what it is and nothing else... Where did you find the info on which fuse to check??? I couldn't find anything to point me in the right direction to look... Thanks again.....
the door locks in my truck automatly lock when you put in gear and that stopped working the same time my OD button stopped. i just got my manual out and checked every fuse that had to do with door locks or overdrive and the last one i checked was it. i really just got lucky.
I didn't notice the OD button not working till I used it the other day to pull a trailer, but I didn't pay any attention if the door locks locked when I put it in gear. I don't drive it any more since my daughter took it over a couple years ago, I can't remember if they're supposed to or not. You know better than to ask a woman when did that happen or when it quit working, unless the motor stops, they don't pay any attention. I'll have to get her to check about the locks. Do you remember what type and size fuse it is? Maybe she can go by AutoZone and get them to check it and change it. Thanks again.....
