ok codes p0443 and p1451 no CEL on?

hey yall i got a 99 ford f150 4x4 with the 5.4L. i got the codes p0443 and p1451 after the truck was runnin like a turd. it had a miss sort of sound to it and on the freeway it would kick down in a gear but wouldnt accelerate. dont know if they are related but i know the codes are both for the evap system. im kinda stumped here and aint too familer with these newer trucks. i have checked the wireing and that sort of thing like fuses but havent seen anything bad yet. the CEL is not on yet but when the truck down shifted on the freeway last time it started to flash and then went away when it shifted to a higher gear. anything to help me figure out what is goin on would be much help. and those are the only two codes it pulls. thanks for any help possible or at least a startin point. tryin to not throw parts at it, im in the military and dont exactly have the cash to throw around. haha

They are both EVAP codes.

Check the gas cap to make sure it's on right.

Check the Solenoid switch that is beside brake vacuum booster( It is mounted at about the ten O;clock position, whike looking at the vacuum booser, and has a vacuum line going to the back of the engine) .

Check all the wiring underneath going the the fuel tank.
But more than likely it will be a vacuum leak from the vacuum solenoid beside the brake booster to the intake.
