Aftermarket gauge in vent - who's done it and how?

Hey guys, I've been having a terrible and very annoying dash rattle/clicking coming from my far left air vent; the one right above my headlight control. I've tried everything to get rid of it and it's still as bad as ever. I think I'm going to just remove the vent altogether and maybe put a nice gauge or something in there. I'm thinking about capping off the airflow somehow, taking out the vent itself, and somehow mounting a gauge in there and making it look clean, again, somehow. I have a lot of engineering and thinking to do, but I'm open to suggestions and tips on how to deal with this. I know there have been guys put gauges in their vents before, anyone done it on in that specific one? Thanks!

I've never understood why people put a gauge in a vent. That makes cooling or heating the truck take more time, especially for the drivers side.

From what he says, along with the people that own that pod, it does not affect the heating / cooling...

Yeah, theres a defroster vent right above the left side of the cluster so if you blocked the very left vent, it would still come out a little in that one plus the blockage would increase the backpressure to all the others just making them blow faster.

I dont really like the ones above the radio, they seem to stick out too far into the cabin for my taste.

ive got other plans for my dash that include a few aftermarket gauges

You guys are all missing the point...he's talking about the vent above the headlight switch to the left of the wheel, not the one to the left of the radio.

haha Sundevil2188 you're right with that one. but it turns out it doesn't matter anymore. i won't be needing to replace my vent with anything. i found the problem that made me want to change it out in the first place. see my other thread titled "you guys aren't even going to believe this" for details!
