Did my truck get kicked in the *****?

...because all of a sudden it's chirping in a high pitched, weak little voice when I push the horn! All of a sudden one day the tone of my horn increased and it sounds wussy and improper for a big truck. It's like that low note of the horn chord is missing. I looked at the horns, there are 2 of them side by side on the passenger side, behind the grill and in front of the tire.... They seem okay, and both seem to be wired together. I haven't checked fuses yet - are both horns on the same fuse? Could one fail but not the other? I don't get it!

yes, sometimes they can go out. not sure how, but they do. and dont worry, i have the same problem now its really high pitched and funny. it took a while for the low one to go out, but it sounded horrible when it was going out, cuz it would cut on and off, and now its dead.

Yea they can go out at any time. I say you get the PIAA replacements because those things are loud, or get some train horns!! Those things wake up everyone on the block.

Well the only way I know off would be buying them off the internet. You can pick them up for $44.99 at http://www.quadratec.com/products/97040_10.htm .
I havent really looked at too many other places, but I was planning on getting them if and when my horn went out. They are universal and plug directly into the original power supply. So it should be no big deal to hook them up.

Just grab a horn from a autoparts store. Both of mine are from there and cost me $15 each. They sound perfect to me

this happened to my friend after he went through some puddles (it was a Chevy) he found out water went up the horns (since the wrap around like a nautilus) and wouldnt come out, causing a high-pitched noise. try removing them and blowing them out or turning them around
