I have a 2001 f150 4x4 5.4 V8 and was wondering if i put 33X12.50X17 nitto mud grapplers what kind of MPGs I would get? or if yall have any other suggestions let me know. thanks
I have the 5.4 engine, 3.55 gears and 35 inch BFG AT KO's and I get 13 mpg. I did not have my speedometer/odometer corrected when I had 33 inch AT KO's but the best I could figure was around 14 mpg.
I've got the 5.4 liter also with 35's, the EDGE programmer, K&N CAI and Magna Flow True Duals. I just changed my oil and fuel filter a couple of weeks ago and with this last tank of gas, I averaged 16.5 miles while running the EDGE on level 2.
Pretty happy about that all things considered.

Get a K&N drop in filter.. $50. Or get an exhaust set up, which will make it sound nice and get better mpg's. A programmer will definitely change things. Better spark plugs and wires or a upgraded mass air flow sensor. There are alot of things.. the list goes on.
Very true GLC lol, expecially in a bigger v8 they are thirsty to start with. other maintenance could help to if its nearing the mileage mark where required or just at the point of needing attention example: Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Plugs(coil, wires,COP's), maintained air pressures, balanced tires, wheel alignments, etc. Just basic routine stuff that gets pushed off or overlooked when it comes to mileage.
