Plow on a f150?

anyone put a plow on thier truck if so did you modify the suspension at all and how does the truck handle the wieght ? thanks

I couldnt tell you from firsthand experience, but I think as long as you keep it in 4WD and have the 5.4L you should be able to handle it without any problems

The ones that i have seen when i lived ion ohio just cranked their t-bars up and it handled the weight fine and you dont need the 5.4 as long as you have 4wd you will be fine

Heavy duty springs & shocks would not hurt either!

true, you dont need the 5.4L but you will be straining the 4.6L

yea i got 4wd and the 5.4L with a leveling kit but i was also gonna beef up the front end with new shocks and springs plus they sell these rubber block type of things that help the front end from dropping thanks guys

Heh - even a 4.2 will plow fine - that's what 4lo is for!

You want to be careful with any aftermarket leveling kit on the 97-03 4x4s, they are not really reccomended. Most guys just crank the t-bars in front and squeeze another 2" of lift for free.

If you are going to be looking at new shocks also, I recommend Bilstein. They are expensive, but well worth the investment IMO...

I have seen some 7700 series around here with plows in the winter. You might put some 7700 series t-bars on for a bit of extra strength up front
