fuses

has anyone previously posted a list and location of all fuses? my brake lights suddenly don't work and want to start there before i tear into the truck.

There is a list in your owner's manual. If you don't have it, download it.

no brake lights

i have an owner's manual and there is no fuse listed for the brake lights, unless it is called something else, that's why i posted the question.

Probably called "stop lamps".

Read the whole list, something will pop out at you as being obvious.

In my 03 manual, it's fuse #13 in the inside box - labeled "stop lamp switch (Lamps)". It also feeds the 4 way flashers and turn signals. If your 4 ways and turn signals work, you probably have a bad or out of adjustment stoplight switch itself. This is a common failure.

did it

you were right. i replaced the fuses for the "stop lamp", nothing. replaced the bulbs, nothing. replaced the stop lamp switch, attached to the brake pedal, and SUCCESS!!! Thanks for the input. still a little strange, because i just had the truck inspected last week, and everything worked just fine. guess i got lucky.
