2005 5.4L 3V swap in a 1997 ????

Well as you know the 4.6L motors have no *** to them which is very frustrating, however I recently found a deal on a 2005 5.4L 3V motor and I think this would be an awesome swap for my 1997 F-150 4x4, has anyone done this or have any opinions on the swap, I would like to use my current transmission on the motor which is a 4R70W would the motor bolt up to it? any advice is much appreciated thanks

Sounds like a great up upgrade, but you may be the first to do it.

there would be alot of work needed.

For starters you would need to convert to a solid camshaft instead of the variable advance timing cam
Convert to standard throttle instead of the fly by wire
custom tune to allow the 5.4 3v computer to control the older 4R70w instead of the newer 4R75e
