I just want to remind you to BE SAFE!

I was working on doing some cutting with a cutoff wheel on Sunday when all of a sudden it felt like someone hit me across the face with a pipe. Then about 1 second later I thought "Oh ****, the cutoff wheel hit me in the face" I started feeling around on my face to see if there is blood. I noticed my safety glasses on the ground beside me with a one of the lenses bend, cut and mangled.

Luckily, all that happened was that I got a couple of cuts on my nose by my eye. I feel very lucky and I am glad I was wearing safety glasses. I would post a pic, but my ugliness would bring you to tears.

So, for all of you working on making your truck look trick, REMEMBER TO BE SAFE, because I want to see your mods!

Your lucky! I had a sandblasting hose blow off the tank and the pressurized sand hit the inside of my arm and gave me a second degree burn. The funny part was trying to explain to the clueless doctor what sandblasting was.

 

everyone has to be safe whenever working on vehicles. i had my old VW in the shop i work at & i was checking something out. ended up moving the upper radiator hose & needless to say, had a little shower. luckily i had my safety glasses on or the $4000 i spent on lasik would have been a waste.

Good call on the Safety Glasses!!! Your decision to spend a few seconds putting them on saved you some grief.

We were raised w/o TV so we spent a lot of time as kids outside doing things we probably shouldn't have been doing. My friend's dad was a mine superintendent and always stressed the importance of eye and hearing protection. I can think off hand of several incidents where I'm convinced they saved us from serious injury/damage ( homemade gun blowing up in my face, garbage bag 1/3 full of oxy-acetylene blowing up in a friends hands).

I spend most of my working day dodging heavy equipment and 85 mph traffic, so safety is always in my conscious thoughts. The most dangerous position one will put themselves in is when they're "... just going to do something real quick..."
