1997 - 2003 F-150

Stuck in 4 low

Stuck in 4 low

Need help in getting my 97 ford f150 5.4 out of low range

Some more details might be helpful. Do you have the manual lever or the electronic system. Are you trying to do it while moving, or stopped. I have the electronic system, and to go in and out of 4-LO you need to be stopped, put the truck into neutral, and move the switch back to the 4-Hi, position. Then put the truck back into drive. You can go back into 2WD anytime after that. Like I said, some more details would be nice, knowing what you have and haven't tried already.

Manual Lever's the same way. U have to be in neutral to get it in/out of 4 low... You can try to do it in drive, but it'll just make a lot of really bad noises. Have you checked the linkage (Manual). If it's electronic, check the voltage at the motor.
