Getting new tires need help
hey guys i have an 02 screw fx4 lariat i want to move up to 285 70 17 anyone else running them ive heard they wont fit some pics would be great im going to crank the torsion bars so hope fully that will help. Some pics would be great. Thanks

They will fit..ive got torsion bars cranked with 305's on 10in wide wheels...bareley had to do any trimming...97f1fifty has a nice looking truck, he's got 285's on stock fx4 wheels and i dnt think he has no torsion bar crank at all.....
Get the 305's, like wandell said. You probably won't even have to touch the torsion bars, if you don't want to. You may have to do MINOR trimming on the valance. I used a dremel tool with a mini cut off wheel. i used a sharpie to draw a line at the edge of the valance. You can't tell anything was done. I think Wandell has some pics of where he did the cutting (more like a minor trim).

I just mounted 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock wheels on my 02 FX4 Lariet screw and absolutely love them. No issues at all, just a little cranking on the torsion bars to level the truck out.
Ok guys I have a buddy with 305 70 17 five tires less than a year old just drivien back and fourth to work 2-3 miles round trip 600 dollars they are buckshot radials really sweet ill post some pics when i get them on.
I am getting 285/75/16 Nitto TG's next week on 16x8 American Racing wheels and am thinking of cranking the bars. When cranking the t-bars do you jack the truck up or leave it on the ground? Also where is the best place to measure from to ensure that both sides are the same height?
