4.56 great gears. Had 3.73 from factory.Great for city acceleration, plowing, towing, hauling etc. City mileage 14. highway 17. Before with 373s I was always hunting from overdrive on hills. I towed a Navigator (13,500lbs total with trailer and my truck) through the hills of Vermont with no problems of continous shifting or slowing down on hills.

Hmm it may have to wait for the time being as I am currently driving alot of highway miles commuting to school. I already cant afford the gas lol, I actually just noticed I have the same truck as you 7 lug mines an xl though, with the 4.6 ( soon to be a built 5.4) and a 5spd. But it didnt come that way

Any of you black truck owners try a product called The Black Box from Turtle Wax?
Saw it in Kragen's, but it's kinda pricey for wax...

I love it...
My dad bought a black '86 F150 new as a daily driver and had it till it was T-boned in 2000.
The next day he walked into a dealership and ordered a 2001 XLT supercab sport with all the extras- power everything, tow package and tranny cooler... everything but chrome. Black bumpers, black grille, no chrome anything! It was like a Knight Rider pickup. The day before he died back in '08 he gave it to me, and it was my daily driver from then till September 3rd this year when it was totaled. I just picked up a beautiful forest green'01 SCrew last week because I really feel as if the 97-03's are just the best looking body of the last 25 years, But as I scan the aftermarket parts, I keep looking at everything in black...
