Code p1260

Ok guys, my truck is an 2001 f150 2wd v8 with the 5.4 liter, i have had some starting issues here lately. At first it started out when i unlocked the truck and tried to start it it wouldnt do anything, then if i pushed lock and unlock on my remote keypad it would start. Now it wont do anything i figgured it must have been a bad connection on the battery, i changed out both battery connectors, still same result no start, so then i pulled out my troyer xcal 2 tuner and pulled the dtcs on the truck and it pulled p1260? I have searched on here and from what i understand it is something to do with the security system. Does anyone know how to disable this or what i might need to fix it?

From: Easton, Pa.
You have a PATS issue indicating a false theif activation.
This disables the PCM from allowing the motor to start; a normal design for the way it's supposed to work.
You have an issue with the reciever at some point.
You cannot disable or get around it in any way.
Have a dealer look at the PATS system to determine what is intermittant.
The PATS has a direct bus to the PCM and does a handshake if the PCM recieves good data from the reciever. This in turn allows the motor to start.
Does no good to go other places looking for the problem because both these areas must be working or the motor wont start in it's own program without the outside signal..
Your theift lamp should be telling you this as well as the code..
Sorry it's so definitive but it's intended to be this way so not every Tom Di*k and Harry can steal these vehichles. All Fords are so equipped.
Good luck.
