I guess it could make a good show truck, not sure about 4x4 competition though. But it is unique, thought you guys might enjoy it.

my truck will be close to that tall maybe slightly taller.

ill beable to run 54's on mine though, but sticking with 40's for now.

the other difference is i wont be running coilovers. Im gonna be running coils and shocks and a 4 link front and leaf sprung rear. Then ill also be running D60's front and rear with 5.13 gears. My stance will be wider than that truck. The tires for now will be 40x17x16.5 Ground Hawgs mounted on 16.5x14 Dart wheels with 3.5" of backspacing.

The project will be done next week. take a look at the build thread (link in sig)

not sure how he ruined a perfectly good truck?

if a Linked truck runnin on 42's is ruined then mine will be garbage???

The only things i dont like about the truck is the paint and half ton front axle.

if the suspension is set up correct then that truck will be pretty decent offroad. More mud and trails than rocks though.

Idunno, I'd rather a truck be more versatile. What kind of REAL off-roading can you do with tires that big ? Wow, you can go thru a deep muddy rut, spend 10 bucks at the car wash, drive around, put it on display and say look@me look@me lol.

Those things roll in minute doing anything fun.

That's a waste IMO, that's all. No offense.

Now this is fast, fun and you can play in the mud -

That is just how we roll down there. Jack it up, and run it through the mud. No rocks or sand dunes around those parts. Just mud, swamp, bogs, and more MUD!!! Granted I am out of the area at the moment. But I doubt things have changed since I left.
I agree, I think the 44 is a little small for the front, but once he snaps it, he'll realize that too.

well yeah, as of rock crawling the yeah that truck probably wouldnt do too great. But i wouldnt say its because the tires are too big. Id say its because the truck is too tall and the center of gravity is to high. But i rember watching the XXX Titan crawling over (moab or rubicon) on 54's.

But like i said my truck will be MUCH wider than that. But hopefully in a 2 years ill see how my truck does in the rocks.

But check out NTRA. Its southern mud racing. they have all types of classes een team races. Trucks cranking out over 1000 HP. Check out Hill n the hole its a huge mud race. Pretty serious stuff when you are jumping a truck on 60"+ v-treads and millitary 2.5 tons.

Im not sure why you knock the southern style of offroad, thats all we have down here there isnt rocks or even that great of trails. Im not knocking the baja stuff or crawling, even though i know the mud over there is nothing compared to FL bogs. Just 2 different styles. Just remeber its all about 1 thing offroad!

Well, It was kiduh fun while it lasted - They have a damn height law out here. I couldn't run 44's further than my driveway without getting a ticket. - Even tho 40's put me right at the limit - I was still gettiing pulled over all the time

It got to be a PITA.

The problem is if you look at the ad location it is Colorado Springs, CO.

2 Hours from the Sand Dunes
Lots of rocks in the mountains.... no mud, swamps bogs or mud for almost 800 miles!!

It is pure and simple a show truck that has seen many shows around here.

It can't be driven on the road legally here. Tires outside the fenders, no mud flaps, altered suspension, head lights too high, etc.,etc., etc.

Since he has plates on it, they are probably tired of getting tickets.

Nope!. Dealership purchased that truck. New height law was passed in this state back in the early 90's - After I/we built it. At first, they were confused on where to measure lol. Then I was informed - bill stated "lowest point of the vehicles frame rail". The Ford frame dropped under the cab. I can't recall the measurement, think it was 22 3/4" ? Well, I was legal with 40's, but it didn't look good with 40's lol and the 40's were mounted on Chrome wagons / The 44's were mounted on Center Lines. After the dealership had the truck for about a week, I was driving by and seen they had put a new set of 38.5 monster mudders on it. Well, I mentioned the height law and the problems I had before they purchased it - But the dealership (Varsity Ford) owner acted like they just learned about it lol - I told them before hand. Anyway, we were walking/talking toward the back by service - He yelled to a kid - said , give him a hand loading those tires. They GAVE me the 44's that I had mounted/shave balenced on Centerlines back!!! - Didn't expect that! Made out on that deal. - The porter did say someone was b^tchen about where to put them, they did take up some room lol. - Took me two trips with the work truck.

I wouldn't get harasssed about anything else, just the frame height when it came right down to it. I imagine they figure, - if the frame is to high , everthing else is as well. Strange thing was, the ticket issued was an ORV infraction. No points. Not sure what it is today.
