Wiper arm broken

Passenger side wiper arm broke the other day

Windshield was frozen, I thought it had thawed enough so I turned on my wipers and the driver's side started, the passenger side tried then it stopped moving...Now I can move it back and forth with no resistance at all, its stripped...

Anybody worked on these before, before I start on it in a blind sort of way.

I once replaced all the grommets on a moreparts (Mopar) wiper assembly I owned before, but they are awhole different animal,, in a bad sort of way..That ole Prospector 4x4 was a very expensive ole girl.......

Either you stripped the wiper arm, or broke the wiper transmission. Either way, looks like a trip to the junkyard.

Get a sharp knife and pop off the rubber gromlet and get a 13mm wrench and see if you cant tighten it.

I had this exact same thing happen to me about a year ago on my truck. It stripped out just like you said but all I ended up having to do was tighten it back down with a wrench as mentioned earlier and it's still holding strong to this day. Depending on exactly what you had break, it may or may not work but I'd suggest you give it a try before dropping any $$$ on new parts.

To get this done, I just flip up that cover on the wiper arm then tighten it down, or junk yard time....Dang it I was just there last Saturday,,,,geez didn't even think about it...Of course its only rained once around here in about 60 days or so.....
