4.6l cobra intake swap

is this possible?
i'm wondering about bolting on a 2003+ cobra supercharger...i know they're 4.6l's, but they're 4v heads...does this matter?
i have a 2003 4.6l.

The 03 Cobra has a Cobra unique lower end to handle the added stress of the blower. Putting one on a standard truck lower is a disaster waiting to happen.

The short of it is there are a number of major and minor parts that would neede to be changed to make it all work including the ECM. It would be easier to get a complete Cobra motor/harness/ECM and swap it all over.

How is putting on a generic eaton blower from a cobra any different than any other blower. His bottom end would support everything that worthless blower had to offer. Only difference is the heads and no it would not work as a direct swap onto 2 valve heads.

so what mods would need to be done to put a blower off a cobra or an L onto a 4.6L?
also, if i choose to go a different (more expensive) route and go with the vortech kit, why does it say it'll only work with 98-02 4.6l's?
the 5.4l kit says 98-03...is there a difference in the 03 motors compared to that of the 98-02's?

Colorado Osprey you must run the ECM for whatever transmission you are using not engine, but thanks for trying to help out... many people have done 5.4 swaps and used the 4.6 ECM (tuned of coruse)

there's a lot more to a head swap on a modular engine than just bolting the heads on... (wiring, timing chains, front cover, cam covers, fuel system torque converter etc)...

a lightning blower will not fit onto a 4.6 without a custom made lower intake manifold...

since you have a two valve 4.6 go to torquetech.com and look at the terminator cobra swap for the 2 valve that uses thier custom made intake manifold.

please explain how a vortech, procharger, paxton will be more expensive and more work if they are a direct bolt in???

and do your research before you start a project or have a friend help you who knows what needs done.

i was just thinking it would be cheaper to go with the kits because i couldn't find a kit for less than 4k ...and i was thinkin if i could make an L or cobra blower work, i could find a used one for less than $1K...but all the extra work needed may make up for the difference in price.
is your lariat a 4.6l or 5.4l?

5.4 in the lariat

i've seen a few procharger kits go for $2000, and powerdyne kits for less...
