Need Help Identifying Part

Hey Everyone,

Well I have to replace a line that comes off the water pump on a 2000 Ford F150 with a 4.2L V6, and I have no idea what the name of the part is which makes getting prices a bit hard. The part is a metal line that branches off into 2 lines, and again it connects directly to the water pump. I have provided a picture below of the part. Any help in naming the part and/or part number would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Your post got hung up in the system as it thought you might be spam. That happens sometimes with new members. I'm sorry it took me so long to see it. I released it, so maybe now you will get some replies. BTW, welcome to the site!

My dad and I just unplugged my heater core this weekend, and did a cooling system flush on my 2001 4.2. It looks like it might have something to do with the heating/cooling system.

Have you tried you local dealership, to ask one of the techs??

Not sure what the part could be.

Lasalle Auto Centre receipt, you must not be too far from me. I used to go there for ETests when I still worked in Corunna but have been going to Top Gear in Sarnia now.

I would just call that a coolant passage, you should be able to get the part number from the parts counter at your local dealership, bring it with you, describe where it goes and they should be able to pull up diagrams with the part numbers

Thanks everyone. Took it to the local ford dealership and they said that a replacement is going to run me $300+ so I'm trying to find a replacement somewhere else. It's been called a couple things, heater return, bypass tube, etc.

And yup I'm actually in Mooretown right now, but won't be going back to Lasalle, but go into details, but alittle unhappy with them..lol

And no problem Jim, completely understandable better safe then sorry, and best to do it that way then have a bunch of spam on the forum.

If you ever have a reason to go to London, you could try Corey's Autowreckers. I've gone there many times looking for parts that the local wreckers haven't had in stock. Unlike Sarnia (unless they've changed), Corey's actually lets you wander the yard and pull the parts yourself which makes things cheaper. It gets pretty icy there however.

Yup Coreys is a good place, used to live in London about a year ago. Didn't know they will let you go around the yard and pull parts. Might have to make a trip there in the near future
