As far as which direction (through which hose the fluid flows) the fluid flows through the cooler, I don't know. Neither one of those lines are a "pressure line" in the same sense as the line running to the steering gear box. What are you trying to accomplish?

You can not remove the hard line connected directly at the cooler...those are pressed on. But if you move back up those hard lines about 4" or so, you'll see both lines turn to rubber and they're connected with plain old hose clamps. They slide right off. If you're trying to just remove the cooler, take the hoses off there. If you're trying to figure out which way fluid flows, just take one off and crank up the truck and see which way it goes. Hope that helped.

ok the hose that i replaced popped off and it looks like it will do it again if i put it back on. i think its cuz there isnt much alloy tubing to clamp on to, is there a way to by pass the power steering cooler for now? or does the truck need the cooler. i dont pull anything with it, its just a city and highway truck.

thanks
