ECU mod fix check engine light.
ECU mod fix check engine light.
When i bought my truck the owner that had it had straight pipes on it, No cat's and No mufflers. So the check engine light stayed on and threw a code that identified low pressure running through the o2 sensors. The truck runs fine but not 100%, So i put some after market mufflers and that still didnt fix the problem. I have priced to cat for it and have gotten prices ranging from $400 to $2000 FOR 2 CATS! I found a guy here in jax fl that specializes in computer reprogramming for fords, and he basically told me that he can reprogram my ecu for $200 it will bypass the o2 sensors, change my shift points and can tuneup my air/fuel mixture. Just wanna know if any one has had this done.
I know the mechanic's there come highly recommended and they warrenty all there work so im not worried about that.
Even talked to a guy that got his ranger done and he sayed it was like night and day.

Friday afternoon i took my truck to http://www.reinhartautomotive.com/ located here in jax Fl, The owner dennis downloaded my current software and began to reprogram it using http://www.sctflash.com/ at first the hardware he was using gave him some problems but eventully we got it working, he wrote a new program that eliminated my top speed limiter ,canceled my o2 sensors, advanced my timing and upped my spark so that i could only run 93 octane in the truck (which i have not problem with since i drive the dually most of the time) and also adjusted my transmission so that at full throttle is shifts a whole lot better, and re adjusted my speed o. The difference is like like night and day, i went there to get rid of a CEL, and came out with a whole new truck. i could of bought MIL elimators or got a set of flowmaster cat's but instead i went to http://www.reinhartautomotive.com/ to get a reprogramming that set me back about 200 bucks and i will say is well worth it.
