Low RPM miss

I'm having a little trouble tacking down this problem, hopefully someone here has come across it before, I haven't had luck with the search function...

Anyways, while driving down the road the truck feels fine at speeds below 40mph or so. Only when the torque converter locks up, I can feel a miss from about 40-45 and then it smooths out again. It's so subtle, I can't even notice it unless the torque converter is locked. Speeds above that, it's smooth as can be.

I changed the air filter today, and figured I'd clean the MAF while I was in there to see if that helped. It didn't.

Any other ideas? It's just weird to me that it's in such a short rpm range.

How many miles do you have on your truck? And have you had a tune up recently? Mine started doing something similar and I ended up replacing the COP's, plugs, wires, etc.

Sounds like the time i had a little water above my spark plug. Check and make sure all the COP have a good connection to the plugs.

Good luck!

How many miles are on the spark plugs, and if they are not the originals, what brand and type are they? Which engine?

I'm assuming by COP's, you guys mean coil packs...

Anyways, I haven't done a full tune up yet, so I do definately need to do that, especially plugs and wires, would like to get a fuel filter on it as well. It's a 5.4L

Hopefully a tune-up will do the trick...if not, I'll post again.

im having the same problem on my 98 4.6L. its got 69k miles on it and the factroy plugs and wires and all. its probably due for a tune up, but i thought it had something to do with the tranny, so i didnt worry about it. one more thing, i was over at the tranny shop and the guy just poured some anti-shudder stuff in the tranny. that seemed to fix it for a little while, but maybe it just didnt show up and the stuff didnt help at all. now that i've got my tuner, it happens at 35-40 where as before it only happened right at 40. so is this a problem with the engine? thanks in advance.
