Interesting Platform....

I was bored and searching F-150's in my area around my year to see what they're going for. I came across an 03' FX4 with a 5spd? I didn't think they paired 5.4's with a manual so I assume this FX4 has the 4.6. Either way, cool combo... my first F-150 was a manual and I sometimes miss it. Cool to see a fully loaded FX4 with a manual.

Never even would have thought they would make a long-bed, FX4 with a manual....weird.

it'll have a 4.6 unless it's been swapped to a 5.4 like JMC 's truck

Back in '02 when I stared looking for a truck I was thinking of going brand new and ordering what I wanted. I tried to see if I could special order a 5.4 with a manual, but they wouldn't do it. I ended up with the truck I have now, because it was cheap and I liked the color!

Or somebody slapped an FX4 sticker on a regular 4x4.

No manual on a 5.4 because the M5OD is a light duty tranny - a 4.6 is rough enough on it. The HD manual in the Super Duty won't fit in a 150 without tearing things apart.

8th digit of the VIN is "W" which is a 4.6 Romeo.

Good call, glc. I guess the 5.4 comes standard (not standard tranny) in the FX4's starting with the 04 NBS?

There were no manuals at all in the 04 NBS, only the Heritage. In 05 they put it back but with the 4.2 V6 only.
