What Do Use Your Truck For?

I'm a Landscaper by trade, so I do alot of towing, stump/plant pulling, and pulling out the 2WD 1-Tons. The stump below was rotten, but still stout enough to prevent the Bobcat from getting it out, but I was able to idle it out. The picture with the 1-Ton Cheyenne in the background has a long story with it. While collecting bales, it got a little overloaded with a full bed and trailer and the entire truck and trailer sunk into the soft soil. I would love to say I hooked up a chain and pulled them out, but I couldn't get enough traction to do so. Eventually we had to unhook the trailer so I could pull out the truck then go back into the Cheyenne's ruts and pull out the trailer. It ended up turning a 2 hour job into an all day job. Lets see some of the stuff you all have done, I'm interested to see exactly what our trucks go through.

I do the same thing.
I've been kicked out of the Lightning Forum, the King Ranch Forum and the 2004 Forum more times than I can count.

Anyway here is my '99

They may look like a bunch of leaves but, it is actually a solid bronze sculpture entitled 'Chunk of Autumn'.
It was being transported by an '04 Ford when the frame gave way and my truck had to step in. Incredible but true.

I use mine as a daily driver. I bought it to move from Chicago to Joplin - hauling stuff and towing a utility trailer. Now that I'm moved, I don't really need a truck any more, but it does come in handy occasionally for Lowe's runs and hauling brush to the dump. I'd get rid of it except for the following factors:

1. I *LIKE* driving it. I like sitting up higher than in a car, and the driving position is more comfortable.

2. It's nice to have for those times where a truck is handy.

3. Resale value is terrible and it doesn't need any work and it's paid for.

4. I can afford the gas.

Odd.... I have a similiar story, but the other way around. Seems I'm always "steppin in" for those wimpy older generation Fords !

Also, I dig that "custom" rain coat you got for the front ! Pretty sweet.

I have the dreaded rearslider leak, the notorious passenger/driver window leak and the infamous windshield leak.

I said screw it, I ain't paying.

+1. I love being able to see over almost every car on the road. Major advantage on the freeway when you can see traffic slowing down way ahead of you
