I explained to my body shop guy the look I wanted. We the sawed 4" off of the frame rail.{that was as much as cut be taken off with out interfering with the airbag sensor} which was just enough to make it flush with the grill.
Then marked and trimmed the bumper in the wheel well, and cut it off. Then bolted all the mounting hardware to the bumper, and clamped and welded it in place. The bumper itself is a plain steel bumper from a 96 model {I think, because the body Man ordered it}. Then took sheet metal and welded in the trim hole in the bumper. Then mounted the valance in place and trimmed the back of it to match in the wheel well.
That's not the grill I had in there first, it got damaged, so the factory one was repainted and put back in.
I will eventually change the head lights, but this truck is a 96 1/2 model and has a different header panel, so aftermarket headlights won't fit. But that will soon have a redo, because the headlights I have for it are kick ***.

Sorry for not replying sooner. The valance is by street scenes, I'm not sure which model it is.

I had to compare the look I wanted, by telling him I wand the front end to look like an old F-7 locomotive. I even took a picture to him to show him the streamlined look.

The pictures for the build on the red one were in the albumn on here before the change over. I can't seem to locate them now. But we had it stripped down to the frame rails on the frontend. I did forget to leave the badges off of it.

Here is my Ford I picked up about a month ago. I do have duals exhaust so I will have to take some pictures of that and get that up if I can ever keep the truck clean for more than a day.

Heres my 02. Its got the 4.2 V-6 with a 5 speed. Only mods so far are the low profile tool box, with my custom rod rack and an ignition/plug wires. Gets great mileage. Cant decide what kind of lift to do. I want it to look good but not redneck... I was thinking just a front end 1.5 or 2.5 inch spring spacer? I also plan to tint the windows dark. Any suggestions? Good lookin trucks on this thread.

nice truck and about the tint, I suggest 5% in the back and 15% on the sides, and if you really want to go dark and think u can get away with it, go with 5% all around

being on a tournament team I have quite a few rods!

I have heard (and saw earlier on this thread) a few trucks with the torsion bars cranked down. What is involved with that? The front needs to be up a little higher so I can clear some bigger tires.

You have a 2 wheeel drive truck no cranking torsion bars since your truck does not have them
