Body Lift

I found the body lift on ebay for $120 shipped. Had a truck speacialty shop install and he charged me $670 in labor. I believe he said it took him 13 hours. If I would have knew it would cost that much I believe I would have not had it done but I can't complain I love to be able to fit some bigger tires under there. I will try to get some pics on here of me playing in the mud as soon as we get some rain.

He was probably right about the 13 hours. It took me a week to do mine working a couple hours a day.

At first I was planning on upgrading the rear 8.8 to the 5.4/9.75, but lack of parts made me second guess myself. I guess most of the influence for 8.8's come from the explorer/ranger guys, and then of course the j@@pers like to swap in the 8.8 as well. I could have swore I read about a build up of a 9.75 in Petersen's OffRoad mag, I can't remember what locker they used though.

tarajerame Thanks for the compliment man.

ebxgsxr Thanks, I still don't know if I like them that much (but I've had them on for a while now, so I guess I do). I'm not sure what these steps came off of. I bought them from a guy who had a regular cab shortbed F150 and he replaced these with nerf bars. I've got the step lights hardwired to the parking lights, so they kind of act as side running lights as well. I've never had any issues with authorities about them, even though they are white lights, they are kind of dim though so I guess that helps.

Low mileage

I bought the truck in Pueblo, Colo. at a Ford dealer's used lot and it was 2 years old and had 18,000 on it and still had 1 year of factory warranty to go. I couldn't go wrong. I will probably catch hell for saying this on this site. but this is the first Ford I've owned since a bad experience in 1986 with a Bronco II. HOWEVER, I do love the truck and I'm glad I bought it. I don't get to drive it as much as I would like to, so it doesn't get alot of miles piled on it. I just keep it as clean as I can. Thanks for the compliment. That makes the work worthwhile.

Bob

Here is a pic of my new f150. Sorry for the crappy pics but these are from the ad I bought it from. Pretty low end model but I still love the flareside look. Changing it into a work truck with a low budget Lightning theme. Already painted the chrome front headlight bezel body color and just bought a 4x4 bumper to which I'm doing the same. Also added new tires and the updated dash.. Have to say thanks already for a great site full of helpful tips!
