Well, got the call that my important part(s) had arrived...

What is it you ask?

Belltech 400 - 3/4 Drop Kit... with included nitro shocks and alignment kit.

Hopefully will be installed in next few weeks... debating putting it in myself with a few buds or trying to find a cheap place/price to get er' done.

something else is scheduled to arrive tomm as well...

spent a good chunk of the day installing the kit yesterday at a buddies shop. the rear was giving us plenty of problems due to seized bolts etc... but after some patience everything went on well... the front was a breeze.

the ride is great, not bouncy, not overly stiff... just right... and better then stock as the truck doesn't feel like a boat when going over bumps and dips. my stock shock bushings were shot to ****.. so its a much better improvement.

only downfall to install but will be easily corrected is my exhaust. the way the exhaust shop bent the piping over the rear diff it, now it smacks against the diff when i go over bumps and such... so i have to get them to re-bend it further past the diff so it doesn't break anything.

the front i'm sure will still settle... only been on the tuck for a day. my front tires need to be replaced to match the rears or i'm thinking to go with stock front tire size to drop it even lower and give it a more staggard look.

no rims for now... next thing is to fix the rust on the cab door... thinking 22's though once money is there to spend... but its not a huge concern for me now.

*pic of original truck when purchased in first post.

here it is thus far:

new foglights are going to be installed... some modding needed for those too

yeah.. will get fixed after the wekend i think.. just taking it easy with bumps for now.

and yes 22's will fit, i know others with it... but for now stock rims will stay... i don't mind them that much really. plus $ has to go to other places for now, have to fix the rust on the ext cab door.

Looks great! The belltech kit is the one I've been looking at also. I'm glad I finally get to hear about someone installing it themselves. That was the big issue for me. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you find the kit for? I haven't found it under $500. I wonder if I would need the 400 or the 401 for a flareside? Also, do you like the shocks that came with it? Sorry for all the questions! Like I said, it looks great!

Oh yeah and the 2 kits above have either the Nitro Drop 2 shocks or the belltech street performance shock.

the kit for me was way overpriced - part of living in canada... you can find it online from summit racing for 425$ for you guys in the states.

the 400 kit should be good enough, its what i went with even with my long box.

shock wise i don't mind what they came with, the ride is good, feels decent, and is a comfortable ride with a stiffer performance feel. from what i've heard its not worth the money for the 401, most people can't tell the difference.

the install will be a pain in the *** if you don't have air tools. i went to a buddies shop to get it done with his help.

started working on my box yesterday...

wanted 12's but the 12" 's i had just had too big of a magnet to use under the bench.
instead went with 2 pioneer 10" 's i got from a friend for free which had a 4" mounting depth.

here is the box just before paint. downward firing 10's...
the bench has to be lifted probably 2.5".. no biggy, still allows people to sit back there comfortably.

its already painted, and installed in the truck.. mmm bass again.
pounds pretty good.. have them matched with my jbl amp and monster cables.
the front speakers have already been changed to orions.
(you can check back on past posts)

pics to come of final product.
