Two Tone 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger Might Be the Perfect Pickup
Eighth-generation Ford F-150 has it all, style and substance.
We are a little biased when it comes to the 1970s Ford trucks. They remain one of our favorite eras. Eighth-generation trucks looked tough and timeless. And make no mistake, these were rough riders with exceptional performance. And the cherry on top of the sundae was the two tone style. Over at our sister site, Ford Truck Enthusiasts, we’ve been showcasing some of our favorites in a weekly post called Two Tone Tuesday. Check it out for more great two toned trucks.
When we spotted this Ford F-150 Ranger pickup we knew it had everything that made these pickups instant classics. We came across this mint example on Mecum Auctions. It is going on the block on July 31 to August 3, as part of the upcoming 2019 Harrisburg auction.
Powered by a torquey 400 ci engine mated to an automatic transmission, this F-150 has been completely restored and looks completely fresh–or should we say refreshed? This 40 year old F-150 is impeccably clean and rust-free.
The brown and beige F-150 Ranger is in an XLT trim. Which means that is a lot of extra bed for hauling and towing.
We could use this as a daily driver or a weekend warrior. An F-150 like this can tear it up in any environment, and turn heads everywhere it goes.
The interior is clean as whistle. With upholstered seating, clean upholstery on the door, it looks great. There are period-correct gauges on the sleek dash. It would be an easy mod to make this Bluetooth compatible, or just enjoy listening to the radio and pop in a cassette. Oh, if you were born in the 1990s, just Google “cassette.”
This two tone F-150 is a badass ride, and with its recent restoration, new wheels, and new tires, it’ll be going for a long time. Ford trucks are timeless for a reason. Some were built so tough they’re not going down without a fight!
If you’re looking to add this beaut to your dream garage, get in line! And head over to Mecum to place your bid.
