Ford F-150

You don’t need a ton of pricey aftermarket parts to make a Ford F-150 capable of going just about anywhere.

If you didn’t know any better, you might think that you have to buy thousands of dollars in aftermarket parts to turn your Ford F-150 into a competent off-roader. But that, of course, isn’t true by any stretch of the imagination. Ford’s F-Series pickups are pretty much ready to go straight out of the box. Even if 99% of their owners don’t need or even want to explore those limits. But not Reddit user InfoFlyBy, who drives his Ford F-150 all over Anthem, Arizona with nothing more than a couple of simple mods.

And they’re all functional, too. Well, save for the Raptor grille up front, which is mostly for show. But it does give this Ford F-150 a very aggressive appearance, so we’d say it was worth it. Otherwise, a set of modest off-road tires and a 52-inch roof-mounted light bar are all he needs to explore countless miles of rough terrain. How do we know that? Well, he’s more than happy to share photographic evidence of those exploits.

The OP’s Ford F-150 is a nice reminder that you don’t need much to take a new Ford F-150 just about anywhere you want to go. Nor do you need something like a Raptor to enjoy the wilderness. We often forget that the modern-day F-150 is perfectly capable of dicing up all sorts of terrain.

So, maybe you should take advantage of that inherent capability sometime, too. After all, the Ford F-150 isn’t just a tough luxury cruiser that can tow or haul stuff. It’s also equipped with the hardware (and software) needed to help you explore your scenic local trails, too!
