Rare 1967 Ford Bronco Half Cab Hunts for New Owner

Ford only built 2,600 Bronco Half Cab examples in 1967. And this freshly restored example is up for grabs!

Everyone on the planet is familiar with the first generation Ford Bronco, a tough little off-road SUV. But what many aren’t aware of is the fact that several variants exist as well. One of which, the Bronco Half Cab, was produced in scant numbers compared to its more conventional brother. In 1967, a mere 2,602 half cabs, or “Bronco Sport Utility Pickups” were built. Compared to nearly 11,000 Bronco “wagons.”

That obviously makes this 1967 Bronco Half Cab, which we spotted for sale at The Collector Car Network, a rare sight. As is the case with most first-gen Broncos, however, that rarity didn’t stop the owner from making some modifications to the little pickup. Like the cut fenders, which help make room for some massive rolling stock.

Regardless of your feelings on cut fenders, the result is pretty darn cool. The short wheelbase combined with prodigious lift results in one awesome looking little pickup. And adding to the tough look is a brush guard with diamond plate trim, which also covers the lower panels and inside door panels. The only real offensive mod here is the 350 Chevy under the hood, which we hope the new owner rips out and disposes of properly.

Otherwise, we’re certainly digging what this seldom seen Bronco Half Cab is dishing out. The diminutive off-roader might not have been a popular option back in its day, but it’s quickly making up for lost time. We’ve seen stellar half cabs going in the $50,000+ range lately in original, restored condition, which makes this one, with a price tag nearly half that (fittingly!) a pretty enticing proposition!
