Off-Roading Wednesdays: Mudding with Ford Trucks

By -

YouTuber’s video highlights the simple pleasures of Ford truck mudding.

The best trucks for going mudding in are usually examples that have been modified for navigating in and out of the sticky stuff. That usually means lifted suspensions as well as much bigger and grippier tires. More power is always good as well. But  that’s not to say you can’t take a lightly modified truck and have some fun. YouTuber Bless Jung put up a video showcasing the simple pleasure of driving a pretty much stock truck through the mud. Yes, this is an older video from February, 2019. But Ford truck mudding is timeless, right? The video is shot in the woods near Lynchburg, Virginia, which is appropriate for this type of endeavor.

Though there are three different trucks on hand for the video, only one of them actually goes into the mud. The truck in question is a beautiful F-150 FX4. The owner is trying out the new Nitto Trailer Grapplers to see how they perform in the mud. As it turns out, pretty well. The F-150 gets into some pretty deep stuff and manages to pull itself out without a hitch.

The video also led to some humorous content in the comments section. One viewer was very appreciative that the video actually showed the Trail Grappler tires being used for their intended purpose. “Finally someone using Ridge Grapplers in a real demonstration instead of hugging the tire in their driveway talking about its highway performance in traffic and a light drizzle in the last honeymoon of 36 hours of owning them…bravo for the mud demo fellas,” said Jay Lo. The tires on the truck in the video are actually Nitto Trail Grapplers.

User cjr4497 concurred: “Thank you for showing these tires in real mud and not some dirty water with hard pack under it.They did much better than i thought they would.” In the end, it seems everyone had a good time with a brief outing in the trucks they love, doing the kind of thing these Ford trucks are so good at.
