Weather Too Cold? How About Some Diesel Trucks to Cheer You Up?

By -

Here’s one time the YouTube video’s thumbnail isn’t just teasing us.

You know those videos on YouTube, the ones that show you a sweet truck in the thumbnail, then you get a lame video of it just driving down the highway? Well, this video shows us a pretty sick Super Duty, which the title suggests is a 6×6 F-550. All we know is that it’s awesome looking, and it’s doing way more than driving down the road when you get to that part in the video.

The channel Diesel Truck Authority isn’t brand specific, so the video has quite a few different pickups, and they’re all diesels. One thing we appreciate about these types of videos, besides the gratuitous smoke and donuts, is the “what not to do” moments, like the one that starts at about 1:28. A Dodge Ram of some variety goes ripping through a mud hole, with a trailer attached! Then, after the Dodge has dug some serious ruts, a guy in a Super Duty takes a run at it — also, with a trailer in tow!

Is anyone surprised? We were definitely rooting for the Ford, but c’mon, man. He made a pretty valiant effort though. The next few clips are pretty tame, but there’s a handful of Fords doing donuts on a variety of surfaces; grassy fields and snowy parking lots mostly.

And if you can’t wait to see the 6×6 awesome-ness, skip to the 7:00 mark. Not one, but there are two wicked 6×6 trucks back-to-back. The video of the red one (remember the thumbnail?) is pretty low-resolution and shot vertical. It does some sweet donuts though. We decided to do some digging on the Internet to find this thing, and we were not disappointed.

Severe Duty Super Duty

This company, DBL Design, creates what they call “Severe Duty” trucks. They make some noticeable and significant upgrades to the Ford F-550 Super Duty. Not only that, the red one from the video is for sale on the Facebook page. How much? $62,000 for a 2016 Ford F550 with a very usable six-wheel-drive system.
