Grills On Film: 2017 Raptor Gets Ultimate Protection

By -

Maybe It’s Obsessive, Or Just Giving the Raptor Some TLC. But Clip of Truck’s 52-Hour, Hand-Cut Ultimate Paint Protection Job is Compelling

Understandably, a lot of guys baby their trucks, especially when it’s something super-special, like a brand-new 2017 Ford Raptor. After all, these things aren’t cheap, and they are a limited-production vehicle. One wrong move out on the trail can instantly transform an expensive truck into a pile of scrap metal. And even if that doesn’t happen, normal wear and tear is still inevitably going to scratch up that nice paint job.

But thanks to the wonders of technology, truck lovers no longer have to accept the fact that their trucks are going to pick up rock chips and scratches. Much like the vinyl wrapping jobs that have transformed the industry, paint protection brings a ton of promise. And Bemaro Films offers just that: the installation of a series of films designed to keep a truck’s paint safe from everything that threatens to ruin it.

Bemaro’s owner, Benjamin Roman, is a true master of his craft. That much is evident when you see him in action. Roman spent a full 52 hours hand-cutting and wrapping a 2017 Raptor for a client, but, thankfully, the video cuts that tedious process down to four minutes. Roman uses a thick 8 mil polyurethane film called Xpel Ultimate to wrap the popular off-roader.

That thick film is enough to protect the Raptor from the kinds of things you would expect it to encounter. These include sand, dirt, mud and the types of small debris that would otherwise chip and scratch the paint. And like all wraps, the film is guaranteed to last a long time — 10 years — and is reportedly easy removed.

But as you can see from Roman’s masterful work, it isn’t so easy to apply — even if he makes it look easy. But rest assured that if you’re interested in keeping your F-Series looking like new, he’ll do the “dirty” work for you.
