Ford F-150 Limited Has Virtually Zero Faults, Says CNBC

2019 Ford F-150 Limited Review by CNBC

Despite being old compared to its competition, Ford’s venerable F-150 still beats them all, hands down.

The Ford F-150 has led the charge for the brand’s F-Series pickups for decades now. And year after year, the F-Series continues to outpace its rivals in terms of sales, by a large margin. For those of us that own and drive these trucks, it’s easy to see why. But we also enjoy reading what non-truck owners and various reviewers have to think about them as well. And in the case of this recent review by CNBC, the praise they bestow upon the 2019 F-150 Limited couldn’t be much higher.

CNBC is quick to point out that the odds actually seem stacked against the F-150. After all, it’s now the dinosaur of the full-size truck market following complete redesigns of both the Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram. It’s also sold in a limited number of markets. Despite this, it continues to dominate the sales charts. Ford sells so many of them, in fact, that it’s ditching passenger cars altogether. “After a week with the company’s volume-selling truck, it’s not hard to see why,” CNBC says.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the news outlet didn’t find a few faults with the most luxurious of F-150 trim levels. For starters, it’s expensive. It lags behind the new Ram in terms of comfort and interior quality. And wind noise is a bit higher than the newer competition. Ultimately, CNBC would opt for a Lariat with the 502A package, which gives you most of the tech and luxury goodies at a much lower price.

And, well, that’s the end of the cons list. Despite its age, the F-150 has held its ground well against the competition. “In the hotly competitive full-size truck market, you’d expect the high-budget newcomers to massively upstage the older F-150. You’d be wrong,” CNBC said. The F-150 still beats the competition in terms of towing and horsepower. The truck’s interior design is still better than the Ram or Silverado. And it’s packed with more tech than both rivals, hands down. Heck, Chevy doesn’t even offer adaptive cruise control on its newest trucks anymore.

Thus, the F-150 is still the pick of the full-size truck litter, despite being a little long in the tooth. And as CNBC points out, this is obviously pretty embarrassing for the competition. After all, when Ford redesigns the F-150 in the next couple of years, it stands to leapfrog them considerably. And as has been the case over the last many decades, continue to exert its dominance over the competition.
