EcoBoosted F-150 Smokes Rebel in Best Two-of-Three Drag Race

By -

Youtubers head to secret location in ‘Mexico’ to drag-race their pickups.

The Ram Rebel can put down the numbers with 392 horses and 410 lb-ft of torque on tap from its 5.7-liter Hemi V8, while also rocking a handlebar mustache last seen on Triple H circa 2006. Surely, you would need your F-150 to have the big five-liter V8 to lay the smackdown on this rebellious pickup, right?

Not necessarily, as Family Cruisin‘s host Paul would soon discover. Operating on five hours of sleep with a dirty Rebel in his driveway, he heads over to a Meijer parking lot in “Mexico” to meet with 2017 F-150 XLT owner Adam of YouTube channel street muscle 215. Here, we learn two things during the meeting. First, we discover our man Adam is a convert to the F-150, whose previous ride was a Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack. Secondly, Paul is saddened to see “that Ford has a bigger big-rig looking front end than the new Rams do,” considering it was the Ram that started the trend way back in 1994. Oh well.

A few minutes later, our two hosts head over to a secret location in “Mexico” to drag-race their respective pickups. The first heat goes to the Rebel, which got off the line well enough, but wasn’t quite able to shake off the F-150. The second go sees the F-150’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost and ten-speed automatic go to work on the Rebel, pulling our hero past the competition in short order.

But then, the third race seals the fate for the Rebel, as the F-150’s EcoBoost smokes the Italo-American pickup hard to take the win and the overall top post. Paul notes that while his Rebel had better grunt, Adam’s F-150 “keeps on coming” thanks to the extra gears and lighter weight.

All that’s left to do is for Adam to conduct a couple of celebratory burnouts, then call it a day.
