$84,000 Question: How Good is the 2018 Ford Expedition?

By -

Is the monster SUV worth the sticker shock?

When the Expedition was introduced in 1997, it was a huge hit with consumers. It’s design, power, and capabilities made it a big hit in the SUV market.

Over the last two decades, however, it has fluctuated with car buyers, and been muscled out of the market by Chevy. But the Blue Oval is hoping for a comeback with its new Expedition, the biggest of its SUV lineup.

F-150

Ford is especially appealing to the off-roading market. But we have to ask, will people really be lining up to buy with a price tag of (gulp) $84,000?

In this video by Auto Vlog they break it all down. Yes, the deets are impressive. The design is sleek and modern, and the influence of the F-150 design is apparent, which obviously appeals to us. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6  produces 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, and the top Platinum trim  boasting 400-hp and 480-lb-ft of torque. On top of that power, it’s more fuel efficient. They put this Expedition through the paces, inspect it thoroughly, and test drive it.

With all that power, space, cool extras, and luxury design, we just might be tempted.
