Many truck builds take the flashy approach, but nothing stands the test of time like simplicity.

If there’s one thing we know to be true, it’s that styles change. We’ve seen everything from bell bottom jeans and billet overkill go the way of the dinosaur over the years. And in spite of this, we just keep coming up with unique fashion choices destined to fail. Do you really think that anybody will be rocking a man bun and truck nuts twenty years from now? Highly doubtful.

That’s why, when you’re building a truck, keeping things simple will serve you best. After all, a high-quality job like this 1948 F-1 that we recently spotted on the Mecum auctions site isn’t exactly cheap. So if you want to be able to enjoy it for years to come without looking like some guy who’s desperately clinging on to the past like he clung onto his hair line, follow the K.I.S.S. theory.

It’s safe to say that this simple but stunning F1 will still be in style for decades to come. After all, the body is smoothed out yet devoid of controversy. Just timeless mods like a chopped top, one piece front end, and suicide doors. All of it covered in delicious yet understated Sunburst Orange. The builder didn’t even retain much chrome, opting for a blacked out grill to go along with a simple black stripe.

You won’t find anything crazy under the hood or inside, either. Just a 302 V8, painted in Ford Blue and carrying things like headers and an aftermarket carb/intake. The interior sports a pair of tan buckets, a few tasteful aftermarket bits, and even roll-your-own window cranks. No crazy colors, flames, or ostrich skin inserts here. Which is exactly how we like it. Now, and twenty years from now.
