When do you put on your Summer Wheels?

I just got some 20" Harley Wheels and tires and am itching to put them on. So I am wondering, when do you ditch your winter wheels and tires and put on your summer ones???

I've never owned a vehicle that I felt the need to have a seperate set of wheels.

i always run my factory wheels during winter and then bring the aftermarket out in the summer. so i think youre fine. if youre really worried just wash them once a week. but factory wheels will stand up to winter the best

I switch end of march usually. Typically march/April and pull them off around Thanksgiving

I think it might be tomorrow for me too. I think it is too early as there is still snow on the ground, but I have nowhere to store them except for the back of my truck, and I cant get my tonneau closed with them in there, so the sooner they are on, the less chance of them being stolen.

I'd call around to some tire shops or canadian tire, pretty sure lots of them offer storage for your rims/tires.

obviously this depends greatly on your location.

My understanding is that the typical threshold is 45°F temperatures.
In the fall I wait for temps to get to the point they are regularly below 45 and in the spring I wait for the temps to get above 45.

That said, it is always better to put the snow tires on too late and take them off too soon. Driving around with snow tires and warm temps will very quickly eat through the rubber. (snow tires use a softer compound for the rubber...)

I take mine off in october shortly after deer season starts and will be putting them back on in the next few weeks. If we get a late snow I just won't drive it.

I wouldn't have driven if we would have got a little snow, but a foot and grannys 90th birthday party. I had to go to the party and the wifes car wouldn't have cut it. on the bright side the nitto 420s did pretty good in 4hi.
